Voting for Change edit-a-thon

People’s History Museum and WCML are working together to acquire material related to the fight for the vote, from the Peterloo protest in 1819 to lowering the voting age in 1969. We need your help to share knowledge of these significant moments in British history and invite you to come and spend a day editing Wikipedia. Wikimedians Tomasz W. Kozlowski and Doug Taylor will be on hand to show you the ropes, and staff from both venues will help decipher source material.

This event will be suitable for people with all levels of knowledge of Wikipedia. In the morning there will be a beginners’ guide to editing Wikipedia, but experienced editors will be able to get stuck straight into the editing if they want.

If you have a particular knowledge or interest in British political history, we would be very keen to hear from you, but this event is open to all.

Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch and a laptop (if you have one).

Cost to attend
