Here are some frequently asked questions about UK Parliament Week (23-29 November 2026).
Signing up for UK Parliament Week
What do I have to do to take part?
Just sign up and we’ll send you a free UK Parliament Week kit full of resources to help you take part by holding a UKPW activity for your school, youth group or community group.
What activities can I do?
Whatever works for you, there are lots of ideas in your kit, including discussions, debates, role-playing, crafts and games. You can do the activities in groups or any setting that works for you. Prepare in advance or just open your kit and go!
How many people can take part in my activity?
As many as you like. It can be big or small!
How long do activities last?
Your UKPW activity can be as long or short as you like. Choose the topics or activities in the kit that your group will get the most out of, and which fit the time available and your own capacity. There is no expectation or obligation to cover every topic in the kit!
Do my activities have to happen during UK Parliament Week?
Your activity can take place at any time, but UK Parliament Week is officially 23-29 November and we would love for you to be part of the action!
Will my MP come to my activity?
When you sign up, we will ask you if we can let your MP know you’re taking part. Your MP might get in touch or ask if they can attend your activity – either online or in person. There was an average of 31 events in each constituency in 2025, so they won’t be able to attend every activity.
- You can get in touch with your MP to invite them to your UKPW activity.
- Or you could invite a Member of the Lords, a local councillor or elected mayor.
If you live in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales you may want to invite your MLA, MSP or MA.
Is UKPW party-political?
No. Like all UK Parliament’s public engagement activities, UK Parliament Week is non-partisan and impartial.
Will other people be able to see my activity online?
No, activity details aren’t published on the website.
Will my activity be covered by the media?
When you sign up we will ask you if we can let your local journalists know you are taking part. If you choose yes, they may get in touch with you and request information about your event.
Is there a sign up deadline?
Sign up will close on 29 November 2026. Don’t wait till the deadline though, once all the physical kits are gone, they’re gone!
A digital version of the kit will be available for people who sign up after all physical kits have been claimed. Digital kits can be downloaded and printed. So if you want to make sure you get a physical kit posted to you – sign up early!

What’s in my kit?

• A giant Inside UK Parliament poster and stickers to share
You can pick and choose from the options in the booklet to tailor your UK Parliament Week activity to suit whatever time you have available and age groups you’re working with.
When will I get my kit?
When you sign up, we’ll post you a UKPW kit in the summer packed with resources to help you plan your UKPW activity.
If all physical kits have been claimed, don’t worry – you can still take part. A digital version of the kit will be emailed to you when you sign up instead.
How much does it cost?
It’s free. All you need to do is sign up!
Can I have more than one kit?
Yes – you will need to sign up separately for each kit that you require.
Can you send me additional items from the kit?
It isn’t possible to send out individual items from the kit but you can sign up for additional kits to receive additional items.
After UK Parliament Week
Do I get a certificate or badge?
Everyone will get a digital certificate after they complete the feedback survey. The survey will be emailed to you at the beginning of UK Parliament Week.
Uniformed organisations can claim badges by completing the same feedback survey. You’ll have to select ‘uniformed youth group’ as your ‘organisation type’ in the survey to be taken to the right page to claim badges. Remember to provide us with a full address to make sure they arrive with you safely.
When will my badges arrive?
Badges will be sent out from December 2026. We’ll do our best to get them to you quickly!
