Take Back Your Power

This is a free community event for Parliament Week UK in Derby. It’s an informative evening combined with entertainment. We will be hosting Clare Mullin from the Parliament Outreach team, with a workshop on Women in Democracy and a taster of M-prez Strategies and Community development programme. Entertainment is provided by poet Emeka Ejiofor with a piece about the Future of Democracy, female rapper Nemz and other artists.

Women in Democracy Workshop

Find out how decisions that affect you, your family and community are made and how to get yourself heard. Discover how to get involved, changing your future and helping your community. Clare from Parliament will lead an interactive workshop. Discover how Parliament works, how national decisions are examined and how laws are made. Explore women’s role in the democratic process today. Attend this event and learn how to improve things for your family and community.

Doors open at 6.15 pm and the programme starts at 6.30 pm.
