The Southwark Democracy Day is a one day event held at a community centre in Peckham centre aimed at educating young people about the role of Parliament in society and inspiring them to get involved.
The event will include speeches from local politicians and community leaders, as well as debates and panel discussions, and will be an opportunity for young people to ask questions of their representatives. The SGTO Youth Forum will also work with its creative partners to showcase short films, plays and musical acts made by young people that explore the ideas of democracy, politics and power.
The event will also host stalls from different charities, youth groups and political organisations that support youth empowerment and development, and will be an opportunity for young people to find out more about the work they do.
The event will be open for anyone in the area to attend.
