On Wednesday 18 November, starting at 6.15pm to 7.30pm, with a short drinks reception after. We have sent the invitation out to our normal list of stakeholders, consisting of Ministers, Perm Secs, MP’s, SCS, Local government officials, Academics, Finance professionals, Mainstream and specialist media representatives.
As part of this year’s Parliament Week the Institute for Government has assembled a top panel from amongst the newest Commons select committee chairs to answer your questions. Reversing normal roles, this event is designed to allow the people who are normally questioned by MPs – as witnesses before committees – the opportunity to put chairs themselves on the spot about their role in scrutiny and accountability.
The event will be chaired by Mark D’Arcy, BBC Parliamentary Correspondent. As well as fielding questions from the audience, he will be posing questions to the chairs which have been sent in advance by email.
Jesse Norman MP, Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee
Stephen Twigg MP, Chair of the International Development Committee
Pete Wishart MP, Chair of the Scottish Affairs Committee
Sarah Wollaston MP, Chair of the Health Select Committee
Whether or not you are planning to attend, we are inviting you to let us have your questions in advance of the event. Questions can be asked anonymously but it would be helpful to the chairs to know the sector of the questioner (civil servant, voluntary sector etc.) so please include this information in your email and make clear whether you are happy for your name to be used.
Please email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org by 16 November 2015
