Oromo Women and democracy

To celebrate UK Parliament Week, this event introduces Oromo people and its indigenous democratic system called ‘Gadaa’ and its parallel institution ‘Siqqee’ to UK Parliament and the public.
Oromo culture with variety of costumes as never seen before will be displayed followed by Oromo music and dance.
We will have a Speaker from Amnesty International on human right violation and its major impacts on women’s human rights and freedom, followed by time for questions and answers.

Our event is open to all. Come, enjoy and experience Oromo culture, music and dance
