13 – 19 November 2017

Let`s Talk Democracy for Children

Our chosen event takes place for one week (13th-17th of November). It will be a week of short activities, quiz, discussions, parliamentary debates about parliament and politics, human rights ,voting and the importance of democracy.

We are also going to invite some Councillors to speak to the children about their jobs, the importance of parliament and democracy during the school assembly in the morning.

The event is for all the children in the St. Joseph`s Catholic Primary School (key stage 1 and 2).

During that week, members of the school council team will visit different classes discussing and enlightening children about the importance of parliament and democracy in our society.

Teachers will organise debates, quiz and discussions and activities for children in their class to do relating to parliament, democracy and human rights .

There will be a general debate that will take place at the end of the week. The topic for the debate will be -DO WE NEED POLITICIANS!

Parents and some of our Councilors from City Hall (maybe the Mayor Of Bristol) will also be invited to watch the debate !
We are all excited and looking forward to it.
