What is IGNITE – The summit?
IGNITE is an event organised by The Challenge, one of the main providers of the National Citizen Service in the UK. It will take place the 28th of November in London.
The summit will bring together 500 young people who have just completed their National Citizen Service. It will give them an opportunity to learn about vital national and international campaigns and inspire them to take action.
What will we be talking about?
Our focus this year will be on global issues and local impact. Those issues will be Poverty & conflict, climate change, HIV and AIDs, refugees and immigration and using your skills to have a social impact.
Campaigners joining us on the day will have a chance to share their skills and knowledge. We are looking for speakers who feel passionate about their cause and want to share their campaigning techniques to empower young people to get involved.
What will happen on the day?
Campaigners will have the opportunity to facilitate two one-hour workshops with 30-50 young people. There will be a half hour break between them. Speakers will also have one minute to pitch their campaign to all young people before the workshops start, this is organised to get young people to choose a particular speakers workshop.
