13 – 19 November 2017

House of Commons Drama

The event is to engage all pupils in the school with what actually takes place in the Houses of Parliament and specifically, in the House of Commons.
A drama will be written by the Headteacher in conjunction with a group of pupils during the school’s Parliament Club, with different scenes from life in the House of Commons. This will include motions, votes and PMQs. Specific parts will be allocated to members of the club but all pupils will have the chance to participate as MPs when it comes to PMQs and voting. In this way, we will engage and empower ALL pupils in our school.
There will be additional narration and explanation along the way of what is happening and how each aspect of the drama represents British democracy.
Invited to this event will be one of the local councillors, our MP – Mike Freer, the Local Network Inspector for the Local Authority, governors and other community representatives.
