Get Democracy to work for YOU!

Parliament Week is a programme of events and activities that connects people with Parliament and democracy in the UK.

Organisations across the UK run events and activities throughout Parliament Week which explore what parliamentary democracy means to them and their community.

In Welwyn Hatfield, local partners and organisations led by the Welwyn Hatfield Housing Trust are planning to run an event in the Town Centre of Welwyn Garden City on the 21st November to mark the “Parliament Week”.

We hope that this initiative will help us to create awareness around Parliament and its functions. We believe it will also give us a platform to bring “democracy to people”. The event will help us to talk to residents, particularly young, who may be eligible to vote. It is really critical for them to understand how the process works and how important it is to be part of it.

There is no need to book. We are planning to promote this event via local networks and contacts. We are also hoping to work with the local press to let the public know about our "Parliament Week" function. The event will be taking place in the Town Centre and we hope it will allow us to interact with many local residents!
