14 – 20 November 2016

Fashion & Politics Day

How has Parliament shaped and influenced the British Fashion industry?
How will Brexit impact the UK Fashion Industry? Will it encourage more home-grown manufacturing and less production of British labels in Europe? Will that mean more control and greater ethical production of clothes? Over 90% of British labels had said that it would have a negative impact on their business in a recent survey. How else does Parliament continue to have a major influence on the clothes industry?
We will have speakers, panelists and attendees that include Lords, MPs, Fashion Industry Leaders, Journalists, Fashion Bloggers, Independent Labels, Students, Ethical Fashion Campaigners, Made In GB Organisation, the Fashion Association of Britain.
Guests are encouraged to join the debate.
Speakers and attendees at previous events have included Lord Stone, Lord Taylor, Baroness Young, Damian Collins MP, Chloe Smith MP, Tulip Siddiq MP, Caroline Rush – the Head of the British Fashion Council, the Fashion Association of Britain, the CEO of the Ethical Fashion Forum, the Founder of Fashion Revolution Day, the Make It British Campaign, students from the London College of Fashion and Independent Designers.
