12–18 November 2018

Our event allows up to 66 senior school students from across Bournemouth to take their seats in the prestigious Council Chamber to debate local and national topics as decided in advance by the students themselves. Joining in the debate this year will be Tobias Ellwood MP, Michael Tomlinson MP, Lord Whitty, Councillor Nicola Greene, portfolio holder for education in Bournemouth along with a team of her fellow Councillors. After the debates, politicians, students and their teachers will enjoy more personal conversation in a networking environment.

In it’s 4th year, the Bournemouth #DoDemocracy event inspires, engages and interacts with students who are following politics or history subjects and are keen to try out their debating skills in a safe, controlled environment with a range of politicians and peers whose motive is to ensure the next generation use their voice and take an active role in either local or national public matters, whatever their career intentions. The event is supported by various members of the local business community which ensures that the event takes place, enjoys social media profile and is filmed for parents, sponsors and supporters to enjoy.
