Cultural Intelligence: An Indispensable Tool for Social and Political Inclusion

As the population of the UK becomes more diverse, it is imperative that parliamentarians develop and expand their cultural intelligence in order to better support members of minority groups to engage with Parliament effectively.

The event will explore the impact of key issues and the role of policy makers to understand and support ethnic minority families to engage with Parliament. We will utilise an array of learning and teaching styles including small group discussions, experiential hands-on learning, multimedia methods and lecture delivery along with case studies will be interwoven throughout.

Event Outcomes:

  • Parliamentarians will improve knowledge of key stakeholders in understanding the various ethnic minority families and their culture and the impact this has on their democratic needs.
  • Enhance good ethical standards when working psychologically with ethnic minority families.
  • Increase the capacity of political stakeholders in their ability to support ethnic minority children and families in a positive manner.
