Bringing the Local into Democracy

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) would like to take this opportunity to draw attention to the very first tier of local government and backbone of local democracy – town and parish councils.

Delegates from town and parish councils will us for a free, full day event where you will have a chance to share your experience, and hear from others, on topics such as engaging and representing local communities, making your voice heard in Parliament, and encouraging Councillors to stand for elections. The event will be concluded by a panel discussion on the future of localism and the new role of councils in a post-Brexit society, followed by a drinks reception.
