Still the Enemy Within + Q&A

This raw, gripping documentary offers insight into one of the most dramatic events in Britain’s history: the 1984 to 1985 Miners’ Strike.

Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s conservative government had declared war on the nation’s unions, and following a secret plan had started to announce the closure of coal mines, leaving the industry and its communities feeling very threatened.

Through interviews and archival footage, the film takes us close into the first-hand experience of the miners, who Thatcher labelled “the enemy within”, and their supporters, from a protester whose best friend died on a picket line to a housewife who becomes a political activist.

Followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
