To celebrate Parliament Week, the Afghanistan & Central Asian Association (ACAA) has organised what promises to be a thought-provoking seminar discussing and reflecting upon the topic of migration and integration in Britain.
They will welcome a broad range of speakers working with migrants and refugees to add depth and context to the conversation; from university professors and representatives of UNICEF to peers in the House of Lords.
Specifically, the guided discussion will focus on the relationship between refugees and the British democratic process. How do refugee experiences shape government policies? What role do grassroots organisations have in providing refugees with a platform to enable engagement with their government?
The discussion will be held in the Grimond Room at Portcullis House from 18:00 to 21:00 on Monday 13th November 2017. All interested parties welcome.
To Note: Whilst ACAA will not profit from this event, tickets are priced at £10 for general admission and £7.50 for students which will cover the group’s expenses.
We advise arrive at 17.45 for a prompt start at 18.00.
