Petitioning Parliment and People Power in Modern Britain

Before we had the vote, we had petitions!

Join us at 11am, 1pm, or 3pm for a short talk revealing the rise, fall, and rise again of Britain’s petitioning tradition. Or, drop-in any time to meet the team behind the research project, funded by the Leverhulme Trust. They can show you the variety and range of petitions, on topics ranging from voting rights for working men and women, to animal rights, to the abolition of slavery.
