Children and democracy – how does it work?

Aim:
The aim of the event is to increase civic participation within young people (primary school children in Y.6) living in Waltham Cross. This initiative, which will be delivered at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Waltham Cross and the Ethnic Minority Association in Broxbourne will help to enthuse young people to get involved in democratic processes and intensify the dialogue between institutions and their young citizens. Our joint project will enhance youth’s sense of belonging to the local and wider community.

Description:
Young people in Y.6 from the St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Waltham Cross will have an opportunity to learn something new about the democracy and the way it affects them as well as “grill” their local MP (Charles Walker) and participate in the Q&A session.
