English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) students at Brushstrokes will have spent the run up to Parliament Week learning about what Parliament does and about how they can get involved through voting. This will culminate in the Brushstrokes Election.
Students will choose three places they would like to visit. They will join with other classes and canvas for the place of their choice. Students will run the election and voting will take place between 9.30am and 2pm on 13 November. Results will be counted and announced at 3pm that afternoon.
In the run up to the election students will have interviewed local councilors, visited their local council offices and had help to register to vote online if they are eligible.
