Following feedback from our partners and audiences, we’ve been busy working on changes to UK Parliament Week, our website, social media and the ways we do things.
We are now officially called UK Parliament Week. This reflects a renewed emphasis on delivering events and activities all around the UK. It also helps to distinguish us from other Parliaments and Assemblies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Our new strapline is Explore, Empower, Engage and this reflects our aims, which are to:
- Engage audiences with the work of the UK Parliament, MPs and members of the House of Lords, through participative events and activities
- Help audiences explore the history of the UK Parliament and think about its role in democracy
- Empower audiences to get involved with the UK Parliament and make their voices heard about issues that matter to them
All events and activities accepted as part of the UK Parliament Week 2016 programme must help to support our aims.
As you can see, we’ve got a new logo and a new colour palette. Once you register your event or activity on the website you’ll get access to a new ‘Official Partner’ logo, and a flyer template to help publicise your event.
We’ve simplified the way you sign up your event. There is now just one form where you can register your organisation’s details as well as all the information about your event or activity.
Our email address
In line with our name change, our email address has changed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Use this email to get in touch with the team about any questions or queries you’ve got. Remember, you can also call us on 020 7219 3522.
From 31 May we will no longer be using our dedicated Parliament Week Twitter account. Instead, we’d love you to follow us @YourUKParl where you can get updates about UK Parliament Week, but also about all the other great public engagement work we do throughout the year.
The hashtag for this year will be #UKPW16. Please use this on all your publicity materials, and join in the conversation online.
