UK Parliament Week resources for churches

20 Oct 2017

UK Parliament Week runs from 13 – 19 November 2017. This year the Church of England have partnered with UK Parliament Week to produce a resource to engage with churches of all denominations.

The Right Reverend David Urqhart, Bishop of Birmingham

“As diocesan bishop and Convenor of the the Lords Spiritual, I’m keen that every UK citizen has the opportunity to understand the work of Parliament. Churches of all denominations can play a vital role in helping people to see how they belong in a parliamentary democracy and can take part in it. This UK Parliament Week resource provides a wonderful opportunity, and I commend it for widespread use.”

What can my Church do?

The Bishop of Birmingham, Convenor of the Lords Spiritual in the House of Lords, has produced a resource booklet especially for churches to use during UK Parliament Week. It has suggested sermons and prayers to use during a service, as well activities that could be run with the church community.

How do I get involved?
