LiberTeas: Sunday 14 June 2015

22 Apr 2015

On the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, plan an afternoon tea to celebrate, debate and reflect on your freedoms and rights.

What is LiberTeas?

Monday 15 June marks the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta, which was the document that laid the foundations for the rights and representation that we enjoy today.

To commemorate, we are asking the nation to take a moment to celebrate, debate and reflect on those rights which we very often take for granted but which people throughout history have campaigned to make happen or fought to preserve.

Organise a LiberTeas event

Your LiberTeas event can be anything you want it to be – a picnic in the park, a Sunday lunch, a debate, a street party, an open day, a historical walk.

You can use the opportunity to commemorate Magna Carta or another historical date or democratic person that inspires you such as the Chartists or Churchill, or you can take the chance to debate future changes.

Attend a LiberTeas event

Wherever you live, you can get involved – there’s something for everyone.
