In the run-up to Parliament Week we will be highlighting events happening up and down the country. This weeks highlight focuses on an event in Manchester at the People’s History Museum on Wednesday 18 November.
Guests are invited to follow the Chartists and Suffragettes and write their own petitions – giving hands on experience of the most popular way ordinary people made their voice heard before democracy. Dr Henry Miller (University of Manchester) will provide a brief, accessible overview of the history of petitioning right up to the present day.

The Power of Petitions is one of many events taking place at PHM during Parliament Week – check out their partner page to see full listings.
