This year, the Church of England have partnered with UK Parliament Week to produce a resource to engage with churches in their dioceses.
With 26 bishops of the Church of England sitting in the House of Lords, known as the Lords Spiritual, they read prayers at the start of each daily sitting and play a full and active role in the life and work of the House of Lords.
“As diocesan bishop and Convenor of the Lords Spiritual, I’m keen that every UK citizen has the opportunity to understand the work of Parliament. Churches of all denominations can play a vital role in helping people to see how they belong in a parliamentary democracy and can take part in it. This UK Parliament Week resource provides a wonderful opportunity, and I commend it for widespread use.”
